Scheduling Information for Tom and Susan Shanklin

Tom and Susan

Dear Fellow Minister, Just a note to introduce myself and our ministry to those of you serving the Lord in the U.S. and around the world. My wife, Susan, and I came out of the hippie movement back in the ’70s. In 1977, Jesus got a hold of our lives and we were delivered completely from drugs and alcohol, and transformed by the power of God. This started a major change of course for our lives. In 1983, I became a pastor of a small church in northern Minnesota. We pastored faithfully in Minnesota and … Continue reading

Amazing Grace: The John Newton Story

Amazing Grace

By Tom Shanklin Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me…. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. In 1748, John Newton, the captain of a merchant ship and a slave trader, encountered a horrific storm at sea. Newton was a rank and cruel sinner, living a totally immoral and irreligious life, but some seeds of the Gospel had been planted in his heart as a child by his mother. As he was about to perish, he cried out to God for mercy and … Continue reading

A Great Weekend of Ministry in Ruthton, Minnesota

SusanPray

Susan and I had a wonderful weekend of ministry at Ruthton, Minnesota. Susan was invited to speak at a women’s luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Country Church with Pastor Rich and Fran DeRuyter. She shared two messages from the Word: “Who Are You Anyway?” and “You Are a Daughter.” About 40 women attended. I heard many positive reports from the ladies. Here’s some comments we received by email: “I was SO blessed on Saturday!  I just wanted to come and receive. Thank you and to the Country Church for the refreshing time!” “Just … Continue reading

Nothing but the Blood

By Tom Shanklin Recently I was reading one of those self-help books. . .the kind that tell you how to be a success in ten easy lessons. I like books on success, and this one was enjoyable and even full of Bible principles. But I was about two-thirds through the book when I realized that there was not a word in it about the blood of Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death at Calvary. Written for a secular audience, this book embraced many good positive Bible truths, but the direction that the author took could … Continue reading

Evangelists Arise!

tompreach

By Tom Shanklin Evangelists arise! The hour demands it. It’s time for those who have received the sacred call to sound the herald message of salvation, to shout it from the roof tops. Evangelists arise! Toss aside every excuse and begin to face the call of God on your life. Preach the Good News. Call sinners to repentance. Call the backslider back home. Sound the alarm. Let the people know. Jesus is coming soon. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. There are many ministries in Christ’s church. And all of them should … Continue reading

The Heart of God for the Muslims in the Last Days

By Andrew Gackle I once heard a pastor share an interesting perspective on the movement of the Gospel throughout the world since the beginning of the Church almost 2000 years ago. Though we know that the Lord has been at work in every place on earth in one way or another for all these years, there is a movement we can trace of the work of the Holy Spirit in the earth. Simply put, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as manifested in the birth of the New Testament Church on the Day of Pentecost (Acts … Continue reading

How I Quit Smoking

By Kim Ellison Sin contaminates the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Sin separates us from a Holy God. God does not love us any less when we sin, but He is holy, and where sin is, He will not abide. Many of us have had a particular sin or habit that has been difficult to get rid of. Just when we think we have the victory, it pops its ugly head back up. I too have experienced areas where I felt powerless and defeated by sin but we must remember that through … Continue reading
