The Power Plant is Still Working! Keep the Switch Turned On!

DSCN5278

By Tom Shanklin “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.” Mark 6:5, 6, KJV. People often ask me why God seems to move so much more powerfully in other countries than He does in the United States. Well, I don’t have all the answers. But from the Scriptures I can see that one of the main hindrances to the move of God is unbelief. This … Continue reading

Ray and Wilma Phipps: Doing What Jesus Did in India!

Ray and Wilma Phipps

By Tom Shanklin For Ray and Wilma Phipps, life has been an amazing adventure and demonstration of God’s supernatural intervention and power. It began in 1946, when Ray was 11 years old. He had a vision while at a prayer meeting in a country church near Venus, Nebraska, where his father was pastor. As Ray knelt to pray with the others, he was transported out of his body and into the atmosphere above the earth. He saw the earth as a huge globe below him that seemed to be real and alive. The Lord’s presence … Continue reading

Refuse to Live Under the Curse

TomatSuperior

By Tom Shanklin “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:13, 14, KJV. Today, you have a choice to live under the curse or under the blessing. A curse is a pronouncement of evil or judgment. A blessing is a pronouncement of good things. The Scripture says that … Continue reading

LifeStyle Evangelism

By Tom Shanklin Back in the ’70s, I met a man working at a sawmill where I was employed in southeast Minnesota. He was not a pastor or a preacher, just an ordinary worker like me, but he loved the Lord. He would talk to me about his church, a small fellowship of “Spirit-filled” Christians. “How do you know they are Spirit-filled?” I would tease him. He was always asking me to come to his church. Meanwhile, he was living the Christian life before me and sharing stories about what God had done in his … Continue reading

The Heart of God for the Muslims in the Last Days

By Andrew Gackle I once heard a pastor share an interesting perspective on the movement of the Gospel throughout the world since the beginning of the Church almost 2000 years ago. Though we know that the Lord has been at work in every place on earth in one way or another for all these years, there is a movement we can trace of the work of the Holy Spirit in the earth. Simply put, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as manifested in the birth of the New Testament Church on the Day of Pentecost (Acts … Continue reading

Trip to North Dakota & Canada

In late July, I travelled to LaMoure, North Dakota for meetings at The Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Carl Black called the Sunday morning and evening meetings a “mini-revival.” I shared my testimony and spoke from Jeremiah on Sunday morning: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13, KJV. I talked about how we are all searching for something ever since Adam lost his place with God through sin. My life was a continual search before finding Jesus in 1977. When I found Jesus, … Continue reading

The Gospel of Healing

By Tom Shanklin In the Gospel of John, chapter 10, verse 10, Jesus says, “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” He doesn’t just say that he came to give us life, but He makes a special point to say “…and that they might have it more abundantly.” Jesus makes it very clear that he has come to give us not just life, but abundant life. He didn’t come to give us misery on earth, while we wait for the train to glory. No, the Gospel … Continue reading

Working with Churches in NW Minnesota

Pastors Curt Svendsgaard of Mahnomen, Norman Gullingsrud of Gary and Wayne Thom of Twin Valley. ” Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” Psalms 133:1-3, KJV. For several years, we have been blessed … Continue reading
