By Tom Shanklin
We had a good month of ministry in June, preaching the Gospel on the radio each week, as well as in person in Rio, WI, Spring Grove, MN, Avoca, MN, the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, and at the Kids at the Point (KATP) Youth Camp in Hendricks, Minnesota. At KATP, I shared on the power of God through Jesus Christ around the campfire one night. Susan exalted the name of Jesus in four sessions under the tent to teens and children. The kids were really blessed by her ministry and many made commitments to the Lord. I thought you might enjoy reading an excerpt from this letter we received from an 11-year old girl:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Shanklin, You touched my heart with your messages and made me see and think of God in a new way. Thank you for truly helping me get saved. See you in heaven!
KATP is an awesome summer camp for kids held on the farm of Pastors Chris and Joyce Caugherty and sponsored by their church, Faith Family Christian Center. For the past ten years, the camp has been drawing teens and children from near and far for a great week of fun on the farm and Gospel ministry. The Caugherty’s have constructed two bunk houses on their property for the camp. Each year they rent a tent, a water slide, and provide kids with a safe, wholesome environment in which to learn about Jesus. Many children have been saved, water baptized, and filled with the Spirit through the camp, and families have been touched with the power of the Gospel. Please pray for this labor of love!
